After being welcomed to the South of Fifth neighborhood this July, SoBe Vegan was excited to get involved in the amazing Miami Beach events that the island has to offer. The past few months have kept us busy as we participated in some fantastic events with our partners. We began to build our connection with the community and spread the plant-based deliciousness.

First, Some Food

Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of joining the Miami New Time’s Out to Brunch event at River Landing Miami. Although this was our first time joining the Miami New Times, it definitely wasn’t a new development. The newspaper has been hosting the event for the last four years.

Each experience hosted a variety of cuisines that showcases some of the best Miami restaurants for brunch. Snacks, sweet treats, and other great foods are featured as well.

Having tasty food and drinks is always fun, but what’s better is knowing we can pay something good forward. Profits from this event benefitted The de Moya Foundation. This group dedicates time and resources to help young people become skilled and confident in their own abilities, and build relationships with employers for future employment. We had the best time meeting the foundation’s members, who quite enjoyed trying our Provolone and Classic Cheddar Sliders. Our menu also featured our Go Green smoothies and Acai Bowls in adorable mini samples.

Although you may have missed this year’s #OTBMIA, you can check out the Miami New Times on Instagram here to stay up to date on all the excitement!

Next, Volunteering

Coming off the excitement of Out to Brunch, we were ready to wind down and get in touch with our more serene side. Last weekend, we sponsored a meditation followed by a cleanup with our friends at the Midweek Cleanse on the beach. Before sunrise, volunteers gathered in our beautiful South of Fifth neighborhood equipped with yoga mats, trash pickers, gloves, bags and enthusiasm. The event was led by founder Maddison Newbold, who often enjoys dining at our South Beach location and sipping on her favorite Pitaya Protein smoothie. Toward the end of the event, two lucky winners won a SoBe Vegan date night for two on us. We can’t wait to have them in soon!

We are so grateful for the chance to participate in this event. Our promise is to be sustainable, clean and green and we want to uphold it. Maintaining our beaches is just one step in that mission.

And, Upcoming, More Delicious Entrees!

It’s great to serve food in our restaurants. But there’s always something exciting about bringing it to newcomers who haven’t tried our menu yet. You may think our Out to Brunch appearance would be the last, but it’s absolutely not! We’ll be at the Seed Food and Wine Festival from November 3rd to 7th.

To spread the buzz about this wonderful plant-based festival, we hosted a Sunday Soiree on October 10th at our South Beach restaurant. The event included complimentary bites of our favorite dishes. It also included sips from our friends at Radiate Kombucha, live music from DJ Zehno, and more. What a great way to preview this year’s Seed Week!

A burger battle and grand tasting day are just some of the events you can attend during this year’s SEED. Make sure to purchase your ticket before the event sells out! And if you’re interested in getting involved, you can find out more on their website, as well as other upcoming news and information.

This is only the beginning of our involvement in local events in the Miami Beach area. We enjoyed the time we spent before and look forward to future memories we’ll make!
